RigWheels Kraken Camera Car Mount (Complete Rental Kit)

Heavy-duty suction-cup car mount kit for picture-car rigging, windshield mounts, hood mounts, side mounts, and the safety hardware to make a built cinema camera ride with a car at speed without becoming a missile. The Kraken kit ships as a complete rental package: industrial vacuum-pump suction cups, articulating arms, baby pins, safety cables, and the documentation we need on file for the production. We use it for picture-car shots, interior driving with a camera mounted to the hood, exterior chase shots with a camera locked to the door or fender, low-angle shots with a camera mounted just above the asphalt. The suction system uses a bicycle-pump-style vacuum and a pressure indicator: if pressure drops below the safe line, you stop and re-set before driving. Every camera mounted with this kit gets a redundant safety cable; that's not optional. We require certificate of insurance for any car-mount rental, plus a conversation about the route, speed, and director of photography on the shot. The kit goes out and comes back complete; missing pieces are not negotiable.
