RigWheels Passport 2 Portable Camera Dolly With Track (PCD2)
Friday pickup, Monday return counts as one day.
Description
A portable camera dolly that breaks down into a checkable case, designed to bring real dolly geometry to fly shoots and tight locations where a Fisher or PeeWee can't fit. The PCD2 includes the dolly chassis with skate-style wheels and a length of low-profile track that the dolly rides on. Setup is fast: lay the track, level it with shims if needed, drop the dolly on, mount a fluid head or low-hat to the dolly's top plate, and the camera moves on a controlled rail rather than a wobbly slider. The PCD2 takes our A-camera builds, Alexa Mini LF on a Sachtler is well within capacity. What it gives us versus a slider: a wider arc, a more controlled push-in/pull-out, and the ability to stay perfectly level over distances a slider can't cover. What it gives us versus a full-size dolly: it actually fits in the truck and on a plane. Setup time is longer than a slider but shorter than rigging Dana track. We brief operators on push technique at checkout, like any wheeled dolly, the move starts and ends with the grip's hands on the dolly, not the camera.
