Sachtler System Video 18 FT MS (flowtech 100 Tripod System)
Friday pickup, Monday return counts as one day.
Description
This is our A-camera tripod. The Sachtler Video 18 S2 head sits on flowtech 100 carbon legs, and together it holds anything we own, from a built Alexa Mini LF in the high-twenty-pound range down to a stripped Komodo or a mirrorless body. The Video 18 head is the reason. Sixteen-step counterbalance with a Lo/Hi range shifter means we can dial it in for an 18 lb camera and dial it back down for a 6 lb one without fighting the head. Seven-step pan and tilt drag, both true viscous fluid, slow reveals come out smooth without the stiction spike cheaper heads have, and whip pans don't overshoot. The flowtech legs deploy in under thirty seconds: one red lever per leg releases both lower sections at once, no bending over to undo six clamps. The 100mm bowl gives us about 77% more contact area than a 75mm system, which matters when there's a matte box and an offset monitor on a built rig. Mid-level spreader included; magnetic leg locks for transport; Touch & Go Plate 16 (Sachtler proprietary, bring it back). Setup tip we mention at checkout: the counterbalance dial only takes effect when the head is tilted through horizontal. Dial alone changes nothing.
