Westcott theC47 Book Light Kit

The C47 Book Light Kit is the gold standard for interview key light, and the modifier we reach for first when a room can hold it. Two 4x6 ft Scrim Jim Cine modular frames, swing-hinge connectors that lock them into a V-shape, and a full set of fabrics: reversible black/white bounce, reversible muslin/black block, 3/4-stop silk, and 1/2-stop grid cloth. The shape is the technique, fire a powerful source (we typically use the Evoke 1200B or 2400B) into the bounce side, let it diffuse off the fabric, and pass through the silk. The light is double-diffused: bounced and softened in one motion, with the kind of wraparound quality that's been described as overcast window light. The aluminum tubes are modular, so the same kit builds 4x4, 6x6, or custom sizes. Needs 12-15 ft of room depth and at least three combo stands plus grip heads. Setup is 15-30 minutes for a competent crew. For small rooms, our Intellytech Mega-8 panel is the alternative.
