Manfrotto MVH502A Pro Fluid Video Head
Friday pickup, Monday return counts as one day.
Description
The 502A is our B/C-camera head, a 75mm half-ball fluid video head we run on the Benro Mammoth carbon legs. Rated for 15.4 lb, with a fixed 8.8 lb counterbalance, which puts mirrorless cinema bodies and lightly-built Komodos right in the sweet spot. Variable pan and tilt drag (no detents), 360-degree pan, -70 to +90 tilt, and Manfrotto's 501PL quick-release plate. The build is straightforward and the deploy is fast, drop the half-ball into the bowl, snug the locking ring, slide the plate in until it clicks. Two Easy Link 3/8 inch threaded posts on the sides take a monitor arm or a small LED if you need it. We pair this head with the Mammoth legs as a complete kit; if you need it on a different leg set, the 75mm half-ball will seat on any 75mm bowl. One thing worth saying out loud: this head is not for the Alexa. A built Mini LF is well past the 502A's payload and counterbalance, it goes on the Sachtler. The 502A is for everything else.
