Canon 24mm f/1.4L II EF
Wide and fast with controlled flare, environmental shots with subject separation, the look of a cinema wide at a stills-lens price.
Friday pickup, Monday return counts as one day.
Description
The 24mm f/1.4L II is our wide-angle character prime, the modern (2008) replacement to Canon's earlier 24L, with two aspherical and two UD glass elements, SWC anti-flare coating, and a floating focus mechanism that holds sharpness from infinity to its 0.25m close focus. On an Alexa Mini LF in LF mode or an R5C full-frame, 24mm at f/1.4 gives you wide environmental coverage with cinema-thin depth of field, which most 24mm primes can't deliver. Used as the wide on interview environmental setups, establishing shots that need foreground, music video wides where a cinema 20mm cine prime is overkill. SWC coating handles direct light sources gracefully. 77mm filter, 650g. EF mount runs native on R5C, R8, and BMPCC 6K Pro; on the Alexa via the LBUS EF mount.
